Misfortune Takes Away Another Top 5 for Davin Scites

Radford, VA (5-22-05) –   Oh where or where has my racing luck gone???? That is what you would think Davin Scites would be singing. But he is as excited as ever with a grin from ear to ear. The weather was perfect for racing as Davin unloaded his car. During practice for the Collision Plus 200 at The Motor Mile Speedway Davin only got a total of 8 laps of practice. "It's not as much as I would like. We were trying to make big changes to pick up some time in qualifying." We definitely got better and picked up in qualifying a bit, three tenths separated us from the pole."   Davin went on to qualify 19th.

The car was flying through the field from the back. Davin Scites could pass high or low, pretty much any where he wanted to put the car it would stick. "We were passing them on the outside with no problem."

By lap 140 Davin went from 5th to 4th place. " We got crowded up and ended up scraping the side of the car down the front stretch wall." After that the car just wasn't the same. But at that point the force was with him as again Davin rocketed through the field passing cars and got into 4th position. "The car was on the edge, it was a handful. The car started to spin and I had it saved but the guy behind me couldn't get slowed down and we just got caught up in it. That was it for the night for us."

"It's so disheartening to have a car that good and then this happens. But we will take it and go on. I am so confident in that run. That was partly my fault. I drove the car and had it saved, the guy clipped me. It wasn't his fault. When your on the edge and you have a car that good, it's just a shame." Commented a still upbeat and enthusiastic Davin Scites.
