PRESS RELEASE July 17th, 2005 9:18pm Cecil Chunn Finishes 3rd Continuing His Streak of Top Tens NASHVILLE, TN. - (7-15-05) Coming off two top ten runs, Cecil Chunn was pumped for the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division Music City 150.Chunn qualified 10th for the Music City 150. “The rear end shifted, which made the car super tight in qualifying. We had a rear end problem, we fixed it but that sent us to the back of the field.” The racing action heated up on the first lap. There was a wild multi-car wreck coming off the second turn on the very first lap. “Starting at the rear of the field was a blessing in disguise. Where we would have started we would have ended up in the wreck. Everyone from 6th place to 13th place ended up wrecked.” They got the track cleaned up and Chunn started coming through the field. “ We ran real good for the first part of the race, then the car got real tight. The grill got covered with rubber and we started running hot.” “The oil temperature pegged out and it just kept getting worse, we had to pit. We took off the tape and cleaned off the rubber, but the car was much tighter at that point. The longer we ran the tighter the car got. By the end of the run we had hurt the right front tire so that we had pretty much used it up.” With 12 laps to go, there was another caution. “By the end of that run we had used up the tires so much and the car was so tight. We pitted and put some tape on to help turn through the center of the corner better and give it more down force. It helped, but not enough.” “We stayed out of trouble and ended up third. All in all it was a good night.” Next race: 9/10/2005 - Kentucky Speedway
