Cecil Chunn To Run for Rookie of the Year In the Kodak Southeast Series

Cecil Chunn a native of Franklin Tennessee is an up and coming driver with a hunger to race.  Cecil comes from a family immersed in racing and NASCAR History.  “I’ve wanted to be a race car driver since I could talk,” Cecil said.

Jerry Chunn, his father began working on Darrell Waltrip’s race car back in the 1980’s during Waltrip’s formative years in NASCAR.  He even moved his family to North Carolina when DW formed a Busch Grand National team and later worked with Bobby and Davey Allison, Winston Cup veteran Mike Alexander and famed Sims Brothers during the mid-80’s.  During this time Cecil watched his father work his mechanical magic for the Waltrip’s and the Alexander’s.  “I used to go to Darrell’s garage and watch my dad work.  He was good at what he did and taught me the meaning of dignity and a hard work ethic.”

In 2003, Cecil plans to run for Rookie of the Year while running for the championship. They are planning on running the full Season of Kodak Southeastern Series while running select Craftsman Truck Races.  Cecil Chunn and G&G Motorsports Marketing are currently in negotiations with corporate marketing partners and are looking forward to solidifying their contracts for sponsorship for 2003 season.  “Hopefully we can get a commitment for sponsorship to ensure that we can run the full season of Kodak Southeast Series.  If not, we will continue to run until our funding is depleted.”  Cecil replied.  Watch for Cecil Chunn and J&SC Racing at the April 26th Race at Greenville-Pickens.
