Jason
Vieau & MVP Motorsports finish a Strong 11th at Lowe’s A tragic beginning to
the ARCA EasyCare 100 when Eric Martin, 33, of Hixon Tennessee died in a
crash at Lowe’s Motor Speedway while practicing
Wednesday for the Thursday night race.
Subsequently qualifying was cancelled along with happy hour and
cars where left to start by owner points.
Jason View was 9th quickest in first practice.
The race scheduled to be run Thursday evening was rained out and
rescheduled for Friday and the race was shorted to only 67 laps instead of
100. Jason’s car was
strong from the start but an early incident at the beginning of the race
left his car with a pushed in left front fender that disturbed the
handling of his car. The car
was extremely fast but was very tight in turns three and four he reported
to the crew. Despite fighting
a handling problem and pitting with 20 laps to go, which dropped him to
the back of the field, he raced back up into the top 10 and finished 11th
while still fighting a handling problem. As Jason Vieau climbed
from his MVP Motorsports Chevy disappointed at his 11th place
finish, Jason’s family was there along with his father and Car owner
Mark Vieau of MVP Motorsports to congratulate him on his race.
“I drove the wheels off that car, we had a car that could finish
in the top 5, but circumstanced didn’t allow it” said Jason. Jason Vieau and MVP Motorsports are currently gearing up to run a full season of Busch Next year in 2003. |
